A blooming great day out

The 1st of October saw perfect weather on our outing to Kaarta Koomba / King’s Park. It was peak wildflower season and it seemed everything in the botanic garden was in bloom, with gorgeous fragrances filling the air. We learned that there are many different types of Kangaroo Paw – not just the red, but also green, black, pink and more. It was a very colourful environment in which to get a little exercise with friends in the sunshine. In the group photo behind the ‘Western Australian Botanic Garden’ sign are (L-R) Bernie, Margaret, Khanyisile, Coral, Judy and Epsipa. ECHO volunteer bus driver Max also enjoyed getting some sun on the day. (If you’d like to drive an ECHO bus – it just requires a car licence – and accompany our clients on outings like this one, get in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator, RJ, here: Volunteer.coordinator@echocommunity.org.au)
