Social Support

ECHO Community Services understands that social engagement is an important part of ageing and we aim to provide assistance so that clients can continue to be engaged in, and remain a valued member of their local community.   We have a number of activities held in our day centre, including craft activities, morning teas, entertainers and guest speakers.

ECHO also organises a number of events to places of interest or lunch outings.  A calendar of events and outings is posted to clients each month.  The client  is asked to phone in and book for the outings of their choice.

Individual social support with a support worker is also provided by ECHO.  This can include, shopping, visiting a loved one in hospital or nursing home, going to the hairdresser, taking a walk in the park with your dog, going to the library or just heading out for a coffee.

Eligibility for Home and Community Care Services in WA is determined by the Regional Assessment Service (RAS). Home Care Package Holders can opt for this service as part of the package. Please see “Navigating the Home Care Maze” for further information.
