Social Support

ECHO Community Services understands that social engagement is an important part of ageing and  we aim  to provide assistance so that clients can continue to be engaged in, and remain a valued member of,  their local community.   We have a number of activities held in our offices, these are:

  • Stitch witches (craft group)
  • Scrabble Club
  • PC Champs (learn how to use and navigate a computer)
  • Morning Teas
  • Guest speakers
  • Entertainers

ECHO organises a number of events to places of interest or lunch outings.  A calendar of events and outings is posted to clients each month.  The client  is asked to phone in and book for the outings of their choice.

Individual social support with a support worker is also provided by ECHO.  This can include, shopping, visiting a loved one in hospital or nursing home, going to the hairdresser, taking a walk in the park with your dog, going to the library or just heading out for a coffee.
