Social Support

ECHO Community Services understands that social engagement is an important part of ageing and we aim to provide assistance so that clients can continue to be engaged in, and remain a valued member of their local community.   We regularly organise social outings for our clients to participate in – everything from coffee and cake and local cafes, to visits to Op Shops, Museums and other places of interest.

A social outings calendar is posted to clients each month.  The client  is asked to phone in and book for the outings of their choice.

Some of our more regular events include weekly shopping buses to local shopping centres which enable clients to do their grocery shopping. These occur every Monday and Friday.

Individual social support with a support worker is also provided by ECHO.  This can include, shopping, visiting a loved one in hospital or nursing home, going to the hairdresser, taking a walk in the park with your dog, going to the library or just heading out for a coffee.

Eligibility for Home and Community Care Services in WA is determined by the Regional Assessment Service (RAS). Home Care Package Holders can opt for this service as part of the package. Please see “Navigating the Home Care Maze” for further information.
