An important update to our services

20 March 2020

Our biggest concern at ECHO is ensuring the safety of our clients, staff and volunteers. Since January, ECHO has exceeded government guidelines, to proactively prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

Until further notice we have taken the following actions to reduce group gatherings and minimise risk:

  • Our Day Centre is closed
  • All group social outings and activities are cancelled
  • Our clients are asked to inform us if they have a cough or fever and if they, a family member or friend they are in contact with has travelled overseas in the last 14 days
  • Our office will be closed to all walk-in visitors.  If you need to visit the office, please call to arrange an appointment or discuss alternative options
  • Increased infection control awareness and training for all staff and volunteers.

We are increasing our offering of individual one-on-one activities, in a concerted effort to assist our clients to stay home and independent while fully promoting social distancing. This is designed specifically to assist our clients with grocery shopping, transport needs and to prevent a feeling of social isolation which can be detrimental to overall health and well-being.

If you need extra help or have any questions, do not hesitate to call us on (08) 9271 7011 or email info@echocommunity.org.au

All of you are in our thoughts as we traverse these difficult times together. Please do take care and look after yourself.
